The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue has raised concerns over what it perceives as a growing state of anarchy under the leadership of Governor Hyacinth Alia.
In a statement issued by the party’s spokesperson, Bemgba Iortyom, the PDP condemned the indefinite suspension of Kwande LGA Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Terdoo Kenti, and other members of his Executive Committee.
According to Iortyom, the suspension of Mr. Kenti and his committee members is an aberration that highlights the disregard for democratic principles and the leadership incompetence of Governor Hyacinth Alia.

The PDP spokesperson dismissed the suspension as inconsequential, citing the APC state chapter’s rejection of the decision.
Mr. Iortyom accused Governor Alia of displaying dictatorial tendencies, alleging that the governor is attempting to undermine the constitutional order in the state.
He further criticized the suspension order issued by Revd. Fr. Hule in Kwande, describing it as mirroring the governor’s purported lawless approach to governance in Makurdi.
Expressing regret, Mr. Iortyom stated, “This development only adds to the growing perception that Catholic priests, with their command and authoritarian orientation, are ill-suited for political leadership within our liberal democratic framework.”
