In response to the recent surge in violent crimes across the country, the Benue State Government has taken proactive steps by releasing contact numbers for the public to report any incidents to the office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security.
Colonel Alexander Ashungu (retired), the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security and Strategic Liaison, disclosed the phone numbers on Wednesday in Makurdi, emphasizing the state’s zero tolerance for crime and the need for the public’s cooperation in reporting suspicious activities.

He highlighted the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of residents and businesses, noting that several kidnapped victims have been rescued, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend those responsible for such crimes in the state.
Colonel Ashungu also commended Governor Hyacinth Alia for prioritizing security and lives as crucial areas in his government’s agenda. Additionally, he acknowledged the commendable efforts of the police and the armed forces in maintaining security and peace in the state.
