GREENWOOD VILLAGE, CO–(Marketwired – Apr 23, 2014) – BEW Global, an industry leader in critical asset protection and managed security services, has announced the formal creation of the BEW Global Incident Response Team (IRT). The IRT is an extension of BEW Global’s existing services offerings that assists clients in investigating and remediating security breaches that may have compromised an organization’s critical assets.
“Incident response is becoming a crucial component within IT security,” said Chuck Bloomquist, BEW Global CTO and founder. “Organizations often lack the necessary skill sets on their existing team or the financial resources to employ an incident response specialist. BEW has provided incident response services on an informal basis for our clients; however, with the increasing number of threats companies are faced with, we decided it was time to dedicate a team of experts to assist organizations who have had, or suspect they may have had, a breach.”
IRTs were initially developed to respond to any unauthorized entries into network systems, including viruses, malware, or malicious or accidental intrusions. Today’s increasing number of threats and their persistence strain an IT department’s ability to respond in a timely manner to analyze and triage incidents. The lack of dedicated internal resources to support these initiatives leaves companies vulnerable to lost data, a loss of public credibility, and potential lawsuits by customers, partners or others whose information may have been compromised.
BEW Global’s IRT will specifically focus on incidents related to three key areas: insider threats, intrusion and external threats, and malware investigation. The IRT provides incident notification, digital forensics, law enforcement coordination, awareness, testing and other services to provide a comprehensive set of solutions for organizations to effectively identify, triage and remediate any suspected breach.
