Global pop icon Beyonce appeared at the MTV VMAs with not only her adorable daughter Blue Ivy but with the mothers of four black men killed by the police in the United States of America.
Mothers of Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin, Oscar Grant and Eric Garner who were all killed by the police appeared alongside Beyonce on the white carpet of the award ceremony held on August 28, 2016, and posed with her.
The four mothers also appeared on Beyonce’s latest effort ‘Lemonade’. The death of Trayvon Martin inspired the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement in America.
Beyonce who was introduced on stage by tennis star Serena Williams performed ‘Pray You Catch Me’, ‘Sorry’, and ‘They Don’t Love You Like I Love You’ all of ‘Lemonade’.
Speaking of ‘Lemonade’, Beyonce’s visual album which centres on infidelity was nominated four times for the Emmys.
The pop star also earned her first Emmy nomination for Outstanding Directing, which is another milestone on her very long list.
