Deputy Governor of Borno State, Umar Kadafur has come out to say that there are people in the state who are yet to believe that coronavirus is real.
Umar recently revealed that this was the same way residents behaved when Boko Haram insurgency first started in the state.
According to him, the government has continually told the people that it is very real and they do not plan to stop anytime soon.
He added that residents must take the deadly virus seriously because it cannot be joked with.
His words, “When Boko Haram started, a lot of people felt it was something not to be taken seriously, until when it consumed everybody. This COVID-19 is another Boko Haram coming, and yet people don’t believe it’s real,
“I keep saying it’s real. As a response team, we’ll continue telling the general public and reaching out with advocacy.”
