    Suicide Bomber Kills 14 In Crowded Damaturu Market

    explosion_in_kano341-400x215We have just learnt of a story developing from Yobe State that a suspected female suicide bomber has killed 14 persons and injured at least 47 others after she detonated her Improvised Explosive Device (IED) vest at the entrance of a crowded market in Damaturu.

    According to PREMIUM TIMES, the suicide bomber detonated the explosive at the entrance of the popular Sunday market in the Yobe State capital at about 9:25 a.m.
    “She chose the most crowded part of the market, which is the entrance to detonate the bomb and so far 14 persons have been confirmed dead and 47 others injured”, the online newspaper quoted a journalist in the city as saying.

    The source further said the casualty figure was confirmed to reporters by the spokesperson of the Police in the state, Toyin Gbadegesin.

    He also said the dead bodies and the injured have been taken to the main hospital in the city.
    “The Hospital is currently besieged with people trying to identify their loved ones”, he said.
