Muhammadu Buhari has praised Sweden for its humanitarian assistance to victims of terrorists in Nigeria.
Speaking during a goodbye visit to the State House by the outgoing Swedish Ambassador to Nigeria, Mrs Inger Ultvedt, Buhari said Nigeria can now say good things about the popular humanitarian spirit of the Swedes, aiding the poor and helping displaced Nigerian communities to forge ahead with their lives.
His words, “You are well-known for helping the poor. You should extend our gratitude to your country for standing shoulder-to-shoulder with us in helping the victims of insurgency in their moment of suffering.”
President Buhari also wished Ambassador Ultvedt, who is exiting Nigeria ahead of the scheduled end of her tour because of health-related issues, quick recovery.
