The Imo State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress sees Muhammadu Buhari being declared the winner of Saturday’s elections.
Daniel Nwafor said APC was putting in the effort to make sure that was the case.
The party is however concerned that the shifted-dates of the presidential and National Assembly polls would bring about voter apathy, especially in the South-East.
His words, “We are very confident that President Buhari will win on Saturday. We are re-strategising to ensure that Buhari wins convincingly in Imo State. But we are concerned about voter apathy, especially in the South-East.
“No doubt, there will be large turnout of voters in the North and West on the rescheduled date, but here in the East, there is possibility of low turnout of voters.
“Our people will prefer to sit at home to watch televisions having been disappointed by INEC last week Saturday, but I pray they prove me wrong.
“We are not relenting. We are mobilising our members ahead of the rescheduled date. We are having series of meetings. I will be meeting with the LGA chairmen after now. I just finished meeting with the ward chairmen.
“All these meetings are targeted at ensuring that President Muhammadu Buhari wins convincingly.”
