Walnut Creek, CA, February 02, 2016 –(PR.com)– CUE, in conjunction with PBS SoCal, will host the annual California Student Media Festival on Saturday, June 11, 2016. The California Student Media Festival, the nation’s oldest festival of its kind, celebrates its 50th year of honoring student achievement and highlighting student creativity through media. This year’s event will be held at Zipper Concert Hall at the Colburn School.

The Student Media Festival exists to celebrate media and multimedia projects produced by California’s students and teachers – rewarding and acknowledging their successful classroom work. The Festival showcases what can be accomplished when talented students and dedicated teachers work together integrating media and multimedia into education. Over the past twenty years, the California Student Media Festival has awarded more than $140,000 to California Schools. It has expanded to include the work of more than 6,000 student contestants from schools across the state.

Hall Davidson, the Festival’s emcee and former Director shared, “Every student knows that somehow, somewhere, deep inside, he or she is a star. Students just need help discovering the moment. By tying the festival experience to learning, the festival makes the curriculum a path toward recognizing that inner stardom. The process works—and kids will work hard to be part of it.”
