Chelsea have been made favourites by the bookies to sign Southampton starlet Luke Shaw, despite registered interest from Manchester United.
.
SkyBet have made the Stamford Bridge outfit 3/1 to sign the 18-year-old wonderkid, which would imply that Jose Mourinho has the upper hand on David Moyes when it comes to the possibility of acquiring the player.
.
This follows heavy speculation that both of the Premier League giants would go head to head for Shaw, with Chelsea viewing him as the ideal successor to the ageing Ashley Cole and Manchester United seeing him as a promising candidate to fill the shoes of Patrice Evra, who could depart this summer.
.
Southampton has so far insisted that Shaw, who has been valued in the media as worth as much as £30million, will not be sold to anyone this month and the youngster himself has claimed he is happy to remain at St. Mary’s, but that could change if either Chelsea or United test the Saints’ resolve with a formal offer.
.
In contrast to Chelsea, the reigning Premier League champions are 8/1 to bring in the full-back with SkyBet, whilst Arsenal and Manchester City both sit at 33/1.

With Jose Mourinho’s little influence still available, David Moyes should forget it.
As a United fans i have to be sentimental here. Moyes should get this youngster!
Manchester United has more pedigree than Chelsea but The Blues have a very good coach that can attract players
