(Aviation Ministry’s report)- As the nation celebrates the 54th anniversary of its existence as a sovereign independent state, Nigerians have been assured of a continuously improving security and safety of air travelers.
Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, in congratulating Nigerians on this occasion, said there’s no better legacy to bequeath to the nation at this age than the assurance of a safe and secure airspace through the provision of world class facilities and navigational equipment at the nation’s airports as well as the establishment of international operational standards for both local and foreign airlines.
According to the Minister, no government in Nigeria has shown the capacity and high level of commitment to the transformation of the aviation sector as done by the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan which has translated into the soaring of confidence of both local and foreign investors in the industry.
He described the recent recertification of Nigeria as a Category One country in air safety as an endorsement of the developments in the nation’s aviation sector and the transformation agenda of the Federal Government by the international community. He called on Nigerians, irrespective of their primordial cleavages, to join hands with the Jonathan administration to take the nation out of the woods.
