Chocolate City is set to release a new compilation album entitled ‘Choc Boy Nation album’.
The recording house last released a group work with the DJ Caise’s ‘Chocolate City New Year Mix’, a mixtape in January, now they plan to top that with an album which features their signed stars and their affiliate record label artistes.
Audu Maikori, President of Chocolate City revealed this information on his Instagram, posting a photo of himself in the company of M.I Abaga, and label returnee, Jesse Jagz.
The photo bore the caption: “Brand New CBN album out soon!!! And by the way your boy @jessejagz is back!!”. A post he later deleted.
According to inside sources, the Choc Boy Nation album is almost complete, with the recording of the project at its final stages.
Audu Maikori, had earlier revealed that there is still a possibility for Ice Prince, M.I, and Jesse Jagz to work together.
Audu Maikori led the signing of all the aforementioned artistes, but saw his ranks depleted in 2013 with the exit of Jesse Jagz and Brymo. The latter left acrimoniously.
But the Choc City President believes there is still room for a united music front between all three rappers, stressing that music is the essence upon which they were brought together, and with it not being lost, there is still hope.
“Break ups and estrangements in this industry is nothing new and what is important is the essence of what brought us together which is music and as long as it is music, there would always be that togetherness…Let’s wait, there may be a few surprises very soon.” He added.
That has been made possible by the return of Jesse Jagz which the rapper has confirmed.
The singer, rapper and ace producer is the head of Jagznation, a label he founded after his exit from Chocolate City in 2013.
