CINCINNATI, OH–(Marketwired – Jan 7, 2014) – CincyTech has invested $250,000 in REPP, a company that allows people to verify their own information online and share it quickly and easily with others. The investment comes from CincyTech Fund III.

REPP provides a valuable and practical service in a world where people increasingly meet, interact and conduct business online. Now, within minutes, anyone using REPP can verify their own identity, link and confirm their social media accounts, and self-run background checks using REPP’S patent pending technology. Their verified REPP profile can then be embedded and shared with people met through e-commerce, dating or networking sites. Users can also ask others to verify their identity with a REPP profile, so that everyone has more information and transparency.

REPP was co-founded by CEO Michael Bergman, Adam Daniel, Stephen Hartz, David Volker and BreeAnna Bergman in 2012 and is a graduate of The Brandery, the nationally-recognized seed stage consumer marketing venture accelerator in Cincinnati. Since then, REPP has been a finalist in the Kauffman Foundation’s “Get in the Ring” competition, and recognized in Global Entrepreneurship Week’s “50 Promising Startups,” CNBC’s “Most Promising Companies,” and the Cincinnati Enquirer’s “10 Startups to Watch.”

“REPP is a product that should exist in this market,” said CincyTech principal Justin Thompson. “REPP is creating a layer of transparency and accountability to interactions we have online, and those that naturally move offline, like dating or buying a car. We believe the REPP team has a good opportunity to make a company that has massive impact.”

“CincyTech’s support of REPP allows us to bring REPP to many more people and platforms that desire transparency and confidence in our ever-connected world,” said Bergman. “The first quarter of 2014 should be an exciting one as we work on launching several high profile partnerships, adding thousands of REPP users.”
