In their quest to improve their living standards, the Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu, has urged Nigerians and the people of Oyo State to give unalloyed support and loyalty to President Muhammadu Buhari and the Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi.  He gave the statement at a well attended civic reception organised by a socio-cultural group in Saki Township Stadium over the weekend.

Shittu said the Federal Government under President Buhari would not renege on his promises, adding that there are good signs that Nigerians would soon laugh and enjoy democratic dividends.  He stressed that efforts are on to sanitise all sectors and that he would not disappoint them. He assured that President Buhari has since assumption of office been working round the clock to turn things around.

Shittu maintained that his tenure as Minister would improve the lots of the people, reiterating his commitments to making the Communications Industry a cash cow for the economy in the face of the dwindling revenue from Oil and Gas.  He thanked the gathering for coming in their thousands to give him a rousing welcome.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the event, Biyi Alabi commended the Minister for his consistency, hard work, perseverance, honesty and forthrightness in public and private life.  He enjoined the people to support the Minister and pray for a successful tenure. The event was graced by people from all walks of life, including prominent politicians, captains of industry, religious leaders, civil societies and the State Deputy Governor – Moses Adeyemo. [FMC]
