Flexify Solutions, a forward-thinking technology firm, has introduced the CyberAgric app with the aim of revolutionizing food production in the country.
Announcing the launch in a statement provided to The PUNCH on Monday, Flexify Solutions highlighted that the mobile application harnesses the power of artificial intelligence to support Nigerian farmers, especially those engaged in cultivating cash crops such as cassava and maize.
The innovative app enables farmers to take proactive measures to protect their crops and ensure maximum yields by utilizing smartphone cameras to capture images of their crops. With real-time analysis and advice provided by the app, farmers can swiftly detect potential issues and implement necessary interventions.

One of CyberAgric’s groundbreaking features is its ability to detect diseases early on, such as the cassava brown streak disease, within the first two weeks of infection. This early warning system empowers farmers to combat diseases effectively, safeguarding their crops and livelihoods.
Importantly, CyberAgric is designed to operate offline, ensuring accessibility for farmers in remote areas with limited internet connectivity. This offline functionality is a crucial aspect of the app’s inclusivity, ensuring that all Nigerian farmers, regardless of their location or internet access, can benefit from advanced agricultural technology.
Johnson Oyeniyi, the Chief Executive Officer of Flexify Solutions, expressed the app’s overarching goal of democratizing access to agricultural technology for Nigerian farmers. He emphasized the company’s commitment to bridging the digital divide and ensuring that even farmers in isolated regions can leverage technology to enhance their productivity and livelihoods.
According to insights from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), agriculture in Nigeria encompasses four main sectors: crop production, fishing, livestock, and forestry. Crop production stands out as the dominant sector, contributing approximately 87.6% to the sector’s total output. Livestock, fishing, and forestry follow, accounting for 8.1%, 3.2%, and 1.1% of the sector’s output, respectively.
With the introduction of innovative solutions like the CyberAgric app, there is optimism for significant improvements in agricultural productivity and sustainability across Nigeria. As technology continues to play a pivotal role in transforming the agricultural landscape, initiatives like CyberAgric pave the way for a more resilient and prosperous agricultural sector in the country.
