New Office Scoops Company of the Year for Regional Centres SSC Award

March 28, Budapest, Hungary: — Computacenter, Europe’s IT Partner of Choice today announces that it has won the “Company of the Year for Regional Centres SSC” award as part of the Hungarian Trade and Investment Agency (HITA) Investor of the Year 2013 award ceremony. The award recognises organisations which have made a significant contribution to job creation in the region and Tony Conophy, Computacenter Group Finance Director, received the award at a ceremony on the 27th March 2014.

“We are delighted to be recognised for our contribution to trade and industry in Hungary,” says Mark Badi, International Service Director. “Hungary is a strategically important country for us and this service centre is a significant growth area. It currently hosts fifty dedicated employees but we expect this to grow to 250 seats, supporting many of our key customers, within a matter of years.”

The award was presented by Péter Szijjártó, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations at the Museum for Fine Arts. The HITA awards recognise organisations which have not only made a positive contribution to Hungarian trade and industry, but also balance private interest with public good.

The Budapest office expansion is Computacenter’s tenth service centre to open in the last two years and adds to Computacenter’s support capability, complementing existing locations in Spain, Malaysia, UK, Germany, USA and South Africa.

“Our Budapest office significantly strengthens the service and support activity of Computacenter across Europe, so we are thrilled that it is being recognised by the Hungarian government,” concluded Badi. “As Europe’s leading independent provider of IT infrastructure services, we look forward to not only supporting our customers but also helping Budapest to thrive and grow with us.”
