Conduct Tribunal examines Taraba State Accountant General on asset declaration violation

The Accountant – General of Taraba State, Joel Lenubang was on Thursday February 27, 2014 arraigned along with others at the Code of Conduct Tribunal on alleged refusal to declare their assets as provided in the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act for public officers.

It was recalled at the tribunal that Lenubang was charged for non-declaration of his assets in 2003, but his Counsel, Kolawole Olowookere in swift reaction to the case filed a notice of preliminary objection against the charge, arguing that the procedure for filling matters before the tribunal was not complied with.

The Tribunal under the Chairmanship of Danladi Umar Yakub (Justice) along with two other members of the tribunal – Agwadza William Atedze and Robert Isaac Odu (Retired Justices) ordered that written addresses be filed and served for argument at the next adjourned date of April 10, 2014 for the case contained in charge No: CCT/TR/14/08.
