For the first time in 30 years, Liverpool are Premier League champions.
Unsurprisingly, ex players and fans have jumped on social media to celebrate the historic trophy.
The football club itself tweeted, “WE’RE PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS!!”
John. W. Henry also wrote, “This was a season for the ages and for the faithful of Liverpool Football Club. It has been an incredible year of magnificent achievement culminating tonight in capturing the Premier League title.”
Rafa Benitez wrote, “Congratulations to @LFC, after 30 years, the dream comes true! Very happy for all the Reds! You’ll never walk alone #YNWA #Champions #Liverpool.”
Lebron James also shared, “PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LET’S GO”
Gary Lineker added, “Congratulations to @LFC . No team has won the Premier League so early in the season. No team has won the Premier League so late in the year. A wonderful achievement by a magnificent team. True champions. Well played. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻”
Rio Ferdinand, “28 wins out of 31 games….nothing but praise for you! Thoroughly deserved…. Relentless appetite….especially losing it last season after being so good. Mentally tough!”
