The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has been informed that local Chinese authorities have proved the traces of Covid-19 found in shipments of imported frozen food from Brazil and Ecuador

.
According to NAFDAC, the frozen chicken wings, in which COVID-19 was allegedly found, originated from a plant owned by Aurora, a poultry exporter in Brazil. It however reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus.
NAFDAC has in view of this charged importers, distributors, retailers and consumers to be cautious to prevent the importation, distribution, sale and use of frozen food products from Aurora facility in Brazil.
According to NAFDAC, members of the public in possession of the frozen food product are urged to discontinue it’s distribution, sale or use and submit stock to the nearest NAFDAC office.
NAFDAC thereby charged healthcare professionals and consumers to report adverse effects developed from the consumption of frozen food products to the nearest NAFDAC office, or through pharmacovigilance@nafdac.gov.ng.
