Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom has cautioned corps members to stay away from anything that would expose them to security risks during their Community Development Service (CDS).
Udom revealed this at the closing ceremony of the 2019 Batch ‘C’ Stream 1 orientation course for corps members deployed to the state at the NYSC permanent camp, Ikot Itie Udung, Nsit Atai on Monday.
He added that the state government would keep guaranteeing the security of all NYSC members posted to the area.
His words, “It is my hope that you will key into this vision and avoid every action capable of undermining the peace in the state by avoiding actions that could expose you to security risks.
“Let me use this medium to reiterate my earlier directive that Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the State must not reject corps members posted to them under any guise.”
The State Coordinator of NYSC, Mr Julius Amusan, hailed the partnership of the state government with the scheme.
His words, “Permit me to use this medium to commend the efforts of the state government is partnering with us towards the realisation of the scheme’s mandate.
”We shall continue to support this administration in the task of taking Akwa Ibom to a higher height.”
