The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja has granted bail to Abdulsalami Hudu, a co-defendant in the money laundering case involving former Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello.
Justice Maryann Anenih, presiding over the case, admitted Hudu, who is the 3rd defendant, to bail on Tuesday under stringent conditions.
Hudu was granted bail in the sum of N300 million and ordered to produce two sureties in like sum.
The court specified that the sureties must own landed property within the Maitama District of Abuja, with each property valued at no less than N300 million.
The title documents for the properties are to be verified by the court registrar.
The court further directed Hudu to:
- Deposit his travel documents with the court.
- Submit two recent passport photographs along with those of his sureties.
- Refrain from traveling outside Nigeria without the court’s permission.
Justice Anenih ordered that Hudu remain in the Kuje Correctional Centre until he fulfills the bail conditions.
Hudu and Bello are standing trial on money laundering charges brought against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
