Mustapha JokoloA Kebbi High Court has ordered the reinstatement of a retired military major, Mustapha Jokolo, as the Emir of Gwandu.

Alhaji Jokolo was deposed and banished from the Gwandu emirate about nine years ago by former governor of Kebbi State, Dr. Adamu Aliero, allegedly on the orders of then President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Jokolo was former Aide-De-Camp to General Muhammad Buhari when he served as Nigeria military head of state in 1983.

According to reports, security in the emirate has been beefed up following the reinstatement of Jokolo as Emir.
