    Court Restrains Otunba Gbenga Daniel From Party Registration

    The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has granted an order of interim injunction restraining a former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and some members of the other faction from opening a parallel office of the party in the state.

    It also barred Daniel and all the five governorship aspirants in the party including Abiodun Akjnlade, Sharafa Ishola, Gboyega Isiaka, Sina Kawonise and Kayode Amusan as well as the factional Chairman and Secretary of the party in the state John Olaleye and Micheal Adegbola respectively from commencing another party registration exercise until the motion was heard and determined by the court. Daniel, Independent National Electoral Commission, the Inspector General of Police, Director of State Security Services,Labour Party and National Chairman of the Labour Party Dan Nwanyanwu among others are the defendants in the suit.

    Justice C J Anneke gave the order in the motion ex parte in a suit filed by three embattled members of the Executive of the party in the state, Olabode Simeon, Chairman, Sunday Ogini, Secretary and Arabambi Abayomi, Financial Secretary of the party.

    The judge in his ruling gave an order of interim injuction restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission , Inspector General of Police, Director of State Security Service, Labour Party and the National Chairman of the party, Dan Nwayanwu from dealing with or according any recognition whatsoever to any other persons as officers of the party in Ogun state .
