Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) and its subsidiaries are gearing up for a significant event, the Sustainability Week, set to take place from Monday, October 23rd, to Friday, October 27th, 2023. The theme for this year’s Sustainability Week is “Sustainable Production and Consumption – The Dangote Way.”
The Sustainability Week is a meticulously planned, week-long event aimed at providing DIL and its subsidiaries’ employees with the opportunity to volunteer their skills and competencies for community impact initiatives. What makes this initiative unique is that the employees will be volunteering their time, which will be paid for by the organization, emphasizing the company’s commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
As the flagship of the Dangote Group, DIL has structured this week to include an online Sustainability Conference that will engage all staff members. During this conference, representatives from various business units within the organization will present innovative opportunities related to Sustainable Production and Consumption within their specific lines of business. These opportunities will be evaluated by a panel of executives for potential adoption.
Moreover, each of the DIL subsidiaries has lined up a series of events during this week, aligning their activities with the Sustainable Development Goals, also known as Global Goals. These goals serve as a shared blueprint for promoting peace and prosperity for both people and the planet, now and into the future.
The week’s activities will kick off with a volunteer mobilization campaign across various business locations in Nigeria and Pan Africa on Monday. These volunteers will be dedicating their time and expertise to make a meaningful impact in the communities they serve.
Some notable events during the Sustainability Week include:
**Tuesday:**
