The Dangote Refinery has received fresh crude oil shipments from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), further strengthening its supply chain as it ramps up production. The latest deliveries underscore the collaboration between the refinery and Nigeria’s state-owned oil company to ensure a steady supply of feedstock for domestic refining.
Industry sources indicate that the crude cargoes were sourced from local oil fields and delivered as part of ongoing efforts to support the refinery’s operations. The Dangote Refinery, which has a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, is expected to play a key role in reducing Nigeria’s reliance on imported refined petroleum products.

Since commencing operations, the refinery has been working to secure consistent crude supply, sourcing from both domestic and international markets. In addition to Nigerian crude, it recently imported shipments from Equatorial Guinea as part of its strategy to diversify supply sources and maintain production stability.
The latest crude deliveries from NNPCL are expected to boost refining activities, enabling the production of essential fuels such as diesel, aviation fuel, and petrol. Analysts view this as a positive development in Nigeria’s push for energy self-sufficiency, as increased local refining capacity could help stabilize fuel prices and reduce import dependency.
With fresh crude cargoes arriving, the refinery is on track to accelerate operations, reinforcing its position as a major player in Nigeria’s energy sector.
