Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has been elected Chairman of the Southern Governors Forum. Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, was elected Vice Chairman.
This decision followed a meeting of the Southern Governors Forum in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Monday.
The meeting, which lasted about five hours, saw the attendance of 13 governors and three deputy governors from southern states.

– Governor Seyi Makinde (Oyo)
– Governor Alex Otti (Abia)
– Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos)

– Governor Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi)
– Governor Peter Mbah (Enugu)
– Governor Douye Diri (Bayelsa)
– Governor Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom)
Additionally, the meeting included:
– Governor Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti)
– Governor Bassey Otu (Cross River)
– Governor Charles Soludo (Anambra)
– Imo State Deputy Governor Chinyere Ekomaru
– Delta State Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme
– Ondo State Deputy Governor Olayide Adelami
The election of Governor Abiodun and Governor Soludo signifies a new leadership direction for the forum as they aim to address the collective interests and challenges of the southern states.
