The Defence Headquarters has called on Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State to substantiate his allegations against the military, following his claims that the military is aiding and profiting from terrorism in the state.
Governor Radda made these accusations during an appearance on Channels Television’s “Politics Today.”
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Buba Edward, emphasized that the military would not engage in a public exchange with the governor.

Instead, he urged Governor Radda to present his evidence to the military high command.
“The attention of the Defence Headquarters was drawn to a weighty allegation labelled against the Armed Forces of Nigeria by the Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Radda,” Edward said.
“The Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) is hereby making it unequivocally clear that it is subservient to all elected government representatives and, therefore, regards the relationship with utmost respect.”
The statement further highlighted that the AFN is committed to its operations and will not be deterred by statements that could demoralize its troops.
Maj. Gen. Edward reassured that the military remains focused on its mission to combat terrorism and maintain discipline within its ranks.
“The AFN, led by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has zero tolerance for indiscipline and any form of criminality in the conduct of operations across the country,” Edward stated, adding that standing court martials are in place to address any misconduct by troops that negatively impacts the military’s reputation.
