Harrysong have gotten a lot of support from colleagues and fans following his legal battle with former record label, Five Star Music.
The singer is demanding credit for the huge favour he rendered in ‘transforming’ Kcee’s career and other artistes during his time with the record label, BUT he also failed to meet his targets.
In the statement released by Five Star Music this morning, we learned that Harry was supposed to release three albums under the record label in three years, but the conditions were never met.
‘That he must deliver at least, three (3) full music albums on or before the expiration of the first term of his three year contract, otherwise the label solely reserves the right either to rescind or extend the contract,’ the statement reads.
Harry’s debut and only album so far, Testify was released in 2012, two years before he joined Five Star Music.
Hence, fans still await the release of his sophomore album, Spontaneous, which was announced in the second quarter of 2016.
For now, the record label, led by ‘Limpopo’ singer Kcee, have made the first move to restrain his contract by advising the general public to tread with caution and desist from transacting any business with Harry.
According to them, it is both illegal and a total breach of his existing contract with their record Label.
Harrysong’s three-year contract with Five Star was supposed to expire this month, January 2017, but in November 2016 he announced his own label, Alterplate.
Five Star Music management has vowed that they will pursue the issue to a logical conclusion using the full instrument of the law.
