Former Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Prince Michael Diden, has asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to declare him the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) direct primary for the Delta South Senatorial District.
In the suit, Diden urged the court to declare that, having complied with the APC’s Direct Primaries Guidelines and Procedures, he is the valid winner of the primary election and should be recognised as the party’s candidate for the Delta South Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections.

He also sought an order directing the APC to immediately forward his name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as its candidate for the 2027 senatorial election.
Additionally, Diden prayed the court to compel INEC to accept and receive his name from the APC as the party’s candidate for the Delta South Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections.
