Back in September, Drake was forced to cancel a pair of Miami shows on tour due to illness. Night One of the rescheduled dates took place Tuesday night (Nov. 13) and Drizzy delivered a special performance for the raucous 305 crowd. The 6 God had a Young Money reunion with Lil Wayne (after bringing out DJ Khaled and Bad Bunny on stage earlier in the night).
Weezy ran down the ramp toward the stage, much like a WWE wrestler getting ready to hit the ring. The Young Money Entertainment ceo hopped right into a classic with the 2009 Gucci Mane-assisted “Steady Mobbin.” Drake then took a second thank Wayne for making this all possible.
“Miami, make some motherfucking noise for my brother. The reason any of this shit is possible and the greatest rapper of all-time. He goes by the name of Lil Wayne,” he declared. The New Orleans native then served up an energetic rendition of his scorching “Uproar,” which saw Weezy break out into the Harlem Shake.
It ended up being an epic night at the American Airlines Arena. DJ Khaled joined Drake for their 2011 smash with “I’m On One” and the OVO rapper performed “Mia” for the first time alongside Bad Bunny. A fan even calmly drained the half-court shot of the night for a cool $25,000.
