An unidentified male driver has been confirmed dead following a multiple truck accident on Kara Bridge in Lagos State on Wednesday morning.
The Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Nosa Okunbor, disclosed this in a statement signed by the agency’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu.
According to the statement, the accident occurred at 4:26 AM and involved a truck carrying rolls of steel coils and a stationary 40-foot container without a truck head.

“Investigations by the Agency’s Response Team revealed that the truck driver, while in motion, lost control while attempting to avoid a collision with the 40-foot container obstructing the road.
This caused the truck to overturn, discharging its cargo of steel coils onto the carriageway,” Okunbor explained.
He confirmed that an unidentified male driver died in the incident, with the body removed before the arrival of LASEMA’s Response Team.
Okunbor added that recovery operations are being coordinated by LASEMA, with efforts underway to remove the debris and restore normal vehicular movement on the bridge.
Collaborative efforts are ongoing to ensure the swift clearance of the road to ease traffic congestion.
