The Nigerian Government has confirmed two more cases of Ebola Virus Disease in Lagos. This brings to seven, the total number of confirmed cases of infected Nigerians, who are still alive and are isolated. Two others, including a nurse and Liberian national, Patrick Sawyer, have died of the disease.
The federal government also said about 139 persons, who have had primary or secondary contact with the confirmed cases, are currently under surveillance.
Meanwhile, President Goodluck Jonathan has summoned an emergency meeting at the Presidential Villa over the EVD threat.
Jonathan, who was scheduled to travel to Owerri, Imo State capital, canceled the trip to attend to the emergency.
