According to the Edo State Local Government Elections Petitions Tribunal, they have received 18 petitions from the Labour Party and its candidates about the just finished local government elections on September 2.

In an interview that took place on Monday in Benin with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the secretary of the tribunal, Emmanuel Uwagboe, revealed this information.

According to him, the first day of the hearings on the petitions will be on Wednesday, November 15.
In order to complete the process within the allotted amount of time, he added that two separate tribunals that would be presided over by Justice Terry Momodu and Justice Rachel Ogbevoen had to be established.
According to Uwagboe, the petitions were submitted within the statutory window of thirty days, which began to run on the day that the State Independent Electoral Commission announced the final results of the election.
In addition, he stated that the deadline for submitting petitions was October 1st.
