The federal government has promised to render financial assistance to the victims of last Sunday’s devastating flood in Igarra, headquarters of Akoko-Edo local government area of Edo State to assuage their losses.
Six people had last Sunday died after a massive rainstorm hit the land and they were swept away by flood occasioned by the heavy rain that destroyed houses and hospitalised many in Igarra.
In his speech, the Assistant Zonal Coordinator, South-South of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Godwin Tepikor who was led to an on-the-spot assessment of the area by the senator representing the area, Domingo Obende and Peter Akpatason Representing Akoko-Edo Federal Constituency has promised succour.
