Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has called on the Otaru of Auchi, Aliru Momoh, to lend his support to the governor’s efforts in identifying a suitable successor.
The governor made this appeal during the 27th edition of the Auchi Day celebration in the town, which serves as the administrative headquarters of Etsako West Local Government Area. Represented by the Commissioner for Youths and
Humanitarian Affairs, Dada Abubakar, Governor Obaseki urged the royal father and the community to collaborate with him in finishing his tenure on a positive note.

“I implore you to support us in identifying a worthy successor who will further advance the development of Edo State and make it the best in the country,” stated Governor Obaseki.
Highlighting the achievements of his administration in Auchi, Governor Obaseki pledged to continue prioritizing the community’s development during the remainder of his term.
He cited accomplishments such as the elevation of Auchi Central Hospital to a specialist facility, the implementation of erosion control and road rehabilitation projects, and the enhancement of Ikelebe Sports Arena into a mini-stadium.
Additionally, the governor mentioned infrastructure projects like the construction of Bishop Court Road in GRA, the establishment of a Lassa fever isolation treatment center, and the Auchi water facility reticulation water supply scheme.
Governor Obaseki commended the Otaru for his peaceful and inclusive leadership style, acknowledging the monarch’s role in fostering unity and progress in the Auchi community.
