The Edumoga Youth Association (EYA) has called for a thorough investigation into the killing of Miss Aladi Offikwu Johnson, popularly known as Tessy, an indigene of Olaidu community in Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State, who was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a hotel room in Abuja.
In a statement on Thursday, signed by its National President, Alhaji Lucky Itodo, the association strongly condemned the gruesome murder and demanded that the perpetrator be swiftly brought to justice, warning that the matter must not be swept under the carpet.
Describing the incident as “heartless,” Itodo decried the alarming rise in cases of young women being killed in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

“Tessy, who was found dead in a hotel room in Abuja under suspicious circumstances, reportedly checked into a hotel on 3rd Avenue, Gwarinpa, on June 16, 2025, with a yet-to-be-identified man. The man was later seen leaving the premises without her,” the statement read.
“Her lifeless body was discovered by hotel staff during a routine check and she was confirmed dead shortly after.”
The EYA president described the killing as a cruel and senseless act, warning that the safety of young women in the capital city is now gravely endangered.
“Tessy’s death is not an isolated case. Ritualists and cybercriminals are increasingly turning Abuja into a hunting ground for innocent lives. We are tired of the bloodshed. We cannot continue to lose our daughters to these predators. The government must rise to the occasion and secure Abuja. If the capital city is no longer safe, then the entire country is at risk,” Itodo stated.
He also advised young women to be cautious and avoid risky meetings with strangers, warning against the dangers associated with hookup culture.
“Hookup culture is dangerous. These situations often end in disaster, as we’ve sadly seen in this case,” he cautioned.
Itodo urged community leaders, security agencies, and the general public to support efforts to secure justice for Tessy, while extending condolences to the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, the Federal Capital Territory Police Command has confirmed that investigations into the matter are ongoing.
