Ekiti Polls: If You Rig, Get Prepared To Be Roasted – Tinubu

bola-TinubuFormer Lagos State Governor and one of the national leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has said the Peoples Democratic Party can only win the Ekiti governorship election by rigging.

Tinubu stressed that the PDP knows it could only win the state by manipulating the election because the party had not presented an alternative manifesto to challenge the ruling APC government in the state.

The APC chieftain made this known at a fund raising dinner hosted by “Friends of JKF”, a statement said on Sunday.

According to Tinubu, “Those in Abuja have sent their agents down again for a repeat performance. They are not ashamed. Defend your votes, it is your right. No matter how much they complain, you will not see them do the campaign because they want to alter the Mathematics.

“If they cannot do subtraction and addition successfully during the governors’ forum, they will not be able to do it during this election. I say it again, if you want to arrest me, come on, arrest me. If you rig this election, we’ll roast you”.

While describing the APC gubernatorial candidate as a dependable candidate, the ex-governor said Gov. Fayemi would deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.

Also speaking at the fund raiser, Fayemi and his Osun State counterpart, Rauf Aregbesola, urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to revisit its decision not to use Voter Card Reader machines in the forthcoming Ekiti and Osun states guber polls.

Fayemi, while supporting the use of VCR machine in Ekiti and Osun elections slated for June 21 and August 9, respectively, reiterated the commitment of Ekiti people to ensure that their votes count and were counted and announced in Ekiti State and not elsewhere.

He added that the electoral umpire would not only be encouraged but also be pressured to use the VCR machine to state its commitment to free, fair and credible polls in the two states.

The APC candidate, who noted that the seven years of PDP rule in the state was full of criminality and brigandage, stated that the collapse of podium used by the PDP candidate, Mr. Ayo Fayose, at Ifaki-Ekiti during a campaign rally, was an act of God revealing the true colours of the enemies of the people.

In his remarks, Aregbesola alleged that the PDP was already collecting the voter identification numbers on voter cards with the aim of cloning the original cards, adding that the only way the cloned cards could be detected as fake was through the use of electronic voting system.
