Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha has warned Governor elect, Mr Emeka Ihedioha to refrain from dishing out orders to financial institutions in the state over their relationship with Imo State and wait until he is sworn in.
He saw the directive by Ihedioha in Owerri two days ago as a sign of worse things to come.
He urged the future governor to keep calm and wait till he is governor before he stars ordering everyone around.
He said the government on ground is still one he is control of, and he will not stop working in favor of the people of the state.
Emeka had told financial institutions in Imo State to not involve themselves in fresh transactions with the government, saying such transactions are a huge risk.
Rochas’ words, “To begin to harass or give directives to financial institutions in the state is an act of hostility. Financial Institutions in the state should disregard such directive and continue to do the right thing and take the right action.
The best that the governor-elect can do is to confront the outgoing government when he takes over on any financial transaction he has reservations at.”
