Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen on HBO show “Game of Thrones,” was recently a guest at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Monday, May 23, 2016.
On the show, the actress spoke on the much talked about brief moment of male full-frontal nudity and her nude scene on season six of show.
She also spoke on her parents reaction to her recent nude scene.
On fourth episode of “Game of Thrones” titled “Book of the Stranger,” her character Daenerys Targaryen walked through the fire naked, after burning the Dothraki men alive.
Speaking on male nudity, the actress said, “You know, I did it, why can’t the boys do it?”
“I think they heard me,” she added, referring to her demand last month for male nudity on show.
On her latest nude scene, the actress said, “I did it before in Season 1, and people like to talk about it, so I just wanted to come out and do an empowered scene that wasn’t sexual; it was naked, but it was strong.”
In a chat on Live with Kelly, the actress spoke on her parents reaction to nude scene;
“So it was kind of like, my parents said, ‘We’re watching the show, but darling, you’re not doing much this season!’ I said, ‘Well, watch this one. Watch tonight,’ and they were trying to get spoilers out of me and on and on, so I sat them down and said, ‘Let’s watch it!’ and then instantly regretted it…My dad’s like, ‘Again?”
In season one of show, Daenerys was coerced into marriage to Dothraki warlord Khal Drogo, and forced to consummate their union on their wedding night.
In an interview with Glamour Magazine, Clarke spoke on her controversial season one rape scene, and how it affected her character.
