The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has called on the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, to relay to President Bola Tinubu the dire state of hunger and starvation gripping the nation.
During Tinubu’s visit to Kano to inaugurate the faculty of law at a private university, the emir emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating that her direct communication with the President is a crucial channel to convey the true state of affairs in the country.
“The hunger and starvation didn’t start with this government, but the situation has become more alarming and needs urgent attention,” the emir stated through an interpreter.

Additionally, Bayero highlighted the pressing issue of insecurity, urging Tinubu to impress upon the President the need for decisive action.
While acknowledging that the current administration inherited these challenges, he emphasized the need for more robust measures to address the threats.
Addressing other government policies, Bayero expressed concerns over the proposed relocation of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and some departments of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to Lagos.
He called for transparency and clearer communication from the government regarding the rationale behind such decisions, stressing the importance of engaging Nigerians effectively.
Furthermore, the emir encouraged Tinubu to push for the implementation of her Renewed Hope Initiative Pet Program, noting that it has the potential to uplift the less privileged and alleviate their hardships significantly.
