England coach, Gareth Southgate has come out to say that failing to reach the semi-finals at Euro 2020 will be a complete failure. He recently revealed that making the semis will most likely be the minimum expectation for his team.

According to him, he and his players are realistic about the tournament as well, and they’ll have to give their all to meet expectations.
He added that England has been to two semi-finals in recent times, therefore the aim is to do better than that in the forthcoming competition.
His words, “Yeah, it probably will.”
“I think we’re realistic about that, we have to live with that expectation.”
“Are we ready to win? Well, we’ve been to two semi-finals so the next step is to try to go further.”
“We know the excitement around the team and it’s great, we’re now relevant.”
“We have four players that play sometimes at right-back for their clubs.”
“Basically they are in the best 26 footballers and that is why they are in the squad. If I could have picked five or six right-backs I would have done.”
“We are here to play nine games. We already have some injury doubts in the group. We need adaptability, good players, good professionals, tactically savvy players and we are fortunate we have old and young players who fit all those categories.”
