The remains of prominent northern politician and Minister of Transportation in the second republic, Alhaji Umaru Dikko, who died on Tuesday in London at the age of 78, would be interred tomorrow (Friday).
It was learnt that the corpse of the late minister, which was supposed to arrive Kaduna State Tuesday night and buried in Zaria the following day, did not go as planned due to logistics and unresolved diplomatic issues.
However, following the resolution of the above issues, a family source, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, said the late elder statesman’s corpse would arrive the country today ahead of the burial on Friday.
“We earlier made arrangement for his corpse to be conveyed from London to Kaduna but we were later told that we must go through official protocol before the release of the body. And we have done this and we are now expecting his remains to arrive Kaduna on Thursday and for burial on Friday”, said the source.
