Ondo state Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko has vowed to give a good legacy on road network in the state even as he commissioned a 22.3km re- constructed Apata/ modern Market Ikare, Ugbe – Iboropa Ise Akoko roads and Afira bridge amidst wild jubilation by the natives.

Speaking at the commissioning of the road projects, Mimiko said his administration is progressively moving forward in giving the people of the State a better road network which he described as expensive but inevitable.

He vowed that his administration will continue to pay more premium on new roads construction and rehabilitation of old ones in the state.

Governor Mimiko also said that ongoing road projects in the state will be completed during his regime, stressing that sustainable road development is needed in the state.

He thanked the traditional rulers and the entire people of Akoko for their continued support for the development of the area and the state in general.

Traditional rulers led by the Olukare of Ikare, Oba Akadiri Momoh, market women, , various groups and youths trooped out en-masse to appreciate the governor for doing what they thought was impossible.

Thanking the Governor on behalf of the people for the feat, the Olukare of Ikare, Oba Akadiri Momoh described the new road as gate way to the Northern States of Nigeria.

The State’s Commissioner for Works, Engr. Gboye Adegbenro had earlier said the government is people-oriented in its developmental initiatives, stressing that the people of the state and beyond will derive benefits from the new roads.
