Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has come out to explain why he chose Mohamed Elneny over Albert Sambi Lokonga against MUFC. He recently revealed that he made that decision because of Elneny’s experience at Old Trafford.
According to him, Elneny was very good at Manchester United’s stadium when both sides met last season, and he only wanted to count on that experience.
Arteta added that fans should also know that rotations are to be expected from time to time during the season.
His words, “[To be able] to play a player like him, with that experience that he has playing in this arena,”
“He was incredibly good last year when he played here [in the 1-0 win] as well. The way he has been training, and the way he behaves, and because I believe that sometimes we have to rotate things for the game.”
