Chief Eze C. Eze, a former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct new Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) and member of the APC Legacy Projects Media Team, has stated that Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara is not in conflict with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.
Eze also commended President Tinubu for maintaining a distance from the face-off between Fubara and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister.
Eze emphasized that Wike did not personally appoint Fubara as the governor of Rivers State but rather, according to him, Fubara’s ascension to the governorship was a result of divine intervention.
He criticized those who have labeled Fubara as an ingrate, emphasizing that the current governor is different from the person they were familiar with in the past.
Eze suggested that Wike’s attempts to retain former lawmakers in their seats against constitutional and divine directives would ultimately lead to his downfall.
Eze further reminded Wike that the 27 former lawmakers who vacated their seats through defection had automatically lost their positions, and he expressed disappointment in the institutional weakness of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for failing to conduct fresh elections to fill the vacancies.
He concluded by emphasizing the need to recognize the divine hand in the events unfolding in Rivers State, suggesting that solutions to the state’s challenges must come from a higher source.
