The Federal Inland Revenue Service, has given tax palliatives to tax payers in the country. Thisvwas done to alleviate the effect of the pandemic on business prospects in the country.

Following the EndSARS protest, FIRS, has given update on it’s page, of the economic implication of the protest, on businesses in Nigeria, and the brain behind granting a tax waiver.
According to the Federal Inland Revenue Service, the tax palliative is an inclusion to existing tax palliatives.
FIRS stated that the destruction of properties and the disruption of businesses caused by the protest happened when the economy is just recovering from the effects of COVID- 19.
FIRS has in view of this and its current programme directed at assisting businesses, provide additional penalty and interest waiver for businesses that make the full paymentup of their principal portion of their outstanding liabilities before 31st December, 2020..
The Federal Inland Revenue Service, has therefore, directed that questions on the above subject should be directed to the office of the Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman on Technical Matters, Room 423, Revenue House, 15 Sokode Crescent, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.
