The Wife of Nigerian President, Patience Jonathan, who is the President of the African First Ladies Peace Mission, has expressed fulfillment in the election of the Mayor of Bangui, Catherine Samba-Panza as the new interim President of the Central African Republic.
In a statement released by the Director of Communications in the Office of the First Lady, Ayo Adesugba on Tuesday January 21, 2014, the First Lady noted that the election of a woman as the first female leader to administer the affairs of that African country has offered renewed hope in the efforts to bring reconciliation to the people of the Central African Republic.
Patience Jonathan also voiced expectation that Samba-Panza, who has made her mark as a successful corporate lawyer and business woman will undoubtedly use her leadership qualities as a skillful and efficient achiever to bring peace to the Central African Republic. She wished the new President-elect the top in her term as provisional leader.
