The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir David Lawal, who flagged off the distribution of the grains at NEMA Central Stores in Yola on Wednesday, June 15 2016, said President Muhammadu Buhari directed him to allocate 70 trucks of grains to Adamawa State from the National Reserve to reduce the hardship its farming population may have being going through as a result of insurgency.
Babachir who was represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Policy Development and Analysis, Ibrahim Bapatel said that the presidency is concerned over the plights of the residents of the states affected by insurgency as they will all be considered.
The Acting Governor of the state Engineer Martins Babale on behalf of the state government thanked President Buhari for the gesture, noting that the state governor has recently rendered similar assistance at the local government level to the ward.
Babale said that government at the state level would continue to partner with the federal government in rehabilitation, reconstruction and maintaining peace in the state and the region.
Similarly, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has distributed clothes to over seven thousand Internally Displaced Persons in Adamawa.
Mr. Sa’ad Bello, the Agency Coordinator in state made this known in Yola.
Bello said that the clothe materials was distributed a head of the Eid el Fitr Sallah festival.
