The federal government has declared Friday, July 17 and Monday July 20, 2015 as public holidays to mark the Id-El-Fitr celebration, which signals the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

According to the permanent secretary, Ministry of Interior, Abubakar Magaji, who made the declaration on behalf of the federal government, all Muslims and Nigerians in general are enjoined to extend the spiritual benefits of Ramadan, which include love, peace and sacrifice for the development of the nation.

He called for the support of Nigerians for the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari as the president is determined to build a peaceful, united and virile nation. He also asked that prayers be said for peace to reign in the country.
