    Fire Station Inaugurated At The Treasury House Building

    A fire station has recently been inaugurated at Treasury House building, Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation in Abuja.

    During the inauguration the finance minister, Ahmed Zainab, who was duly represented by the permanent secretary at the ministry of finance, Ahmed Ali stated that fire incidents in government offices are mostly caused by the failure to plan and implement fire preventive and safety measures.

    According to the finance minister “Of recent, fire incidents have been reported in many government offices and in most cases such incidents were as result of failure to plan and implement fire preventive and safety measures.”

    In her words the inauguration of the fire station amidst various infrastructural development projects carried out by the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation were in line with the government policy of safety in the workplace.

    The Account-General of the Federation, Ibrahim Idris, however noted that his agency has the aim of ensuring the Federal Fire Service and all fire commands around the country were adequately equipped.
